Commis III Chef – Job Description
A Commis III Chef is an entry-level position in the kitchen, responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation and ensuring that all assigned sections are kept clean, organized, and ready for service. The role requires a strong passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to standard recipes.

Ensure workstations are clean, properly sanitized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and tools.

Support the Demi Chef de Partie and Commis I & II in daily kitchen operations.

Follow all food hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures as per hotel standards.

Handle ingredients and food items carefully to minimize waste.

Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.

Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies and ingredients.

Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Chef de Partie.

Uphold kitchen organization and ensure timely preparation for service periods.
Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent preferred.

Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety standards.

Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant is an advantage.

Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field.

Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
