HSE Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our organization’s HSE standards, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with UAE and international standards
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures
  • Design and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE initiatives, using data analysis to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with management to integrate HSE considerations into all aspects of business operations
  • Ensure compliance with local UAE HSE laws and regulations, as well as international standards
  • Manage and maintain HSE documentation, including permits, certifications, and regulatory filings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE matters with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging HSE trends, technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into organizational strategies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in a similar industry
  • Relevant HSE certifications
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulations, as well as international HSE standards
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Proficiency in HSE software and data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging HSE training programs
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
  • Willingness to work in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and adapt to local cultural considerations
