The Commis II – Pastry supports the pastry team in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a wide range of desserts, pastries, and bakery items. This entry-level position requires basic technical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn under the guidance of the Pastry Chef and senior pastry staff. The Commis II assists with daily mise-en-place, measures ingredients accurately, and ensures consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
The role includes helping with the production of pastries for à la carte menus, buffets, and banquets, decorating desserts, and maintaining organized and hygienic workstations. The Commis II must follow recipes and standard operating procedures, comply with HACCP guidelines, and operate bakery equipment safely.
The ideal candidate is disciplined, eager to learn, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while contributing positively to the pastry team and supporting the overall culinary operations of the kitchen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
