The Assistant Pastry Chef – Western Pastries supports the Pastry Chef in producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and bakery items with a strong focus on Western-style creations such as cakes, tarts, mousses, pastries, and specialty baked goods. This role ensures consistent product quality, proper recipe execution, and adherence to hygiene and food safety standards. The Assistant Pastry Chef helps with menu development, daily preparations, and maintaining inventory while contributing to a creative and efficient pastry kitchen.
Working closely with the pastry team, the Assistant Pastry Chef supervises junior staff, assists in training, and ensures smooth daily operations. The role includes maintaining workstation cleanliness, monitoring baking techniques, decorating pastries with precision, and ensuring timely production for restaurants, buffets, room service, and banquets. A passion for creativity, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of Western pastry techniques are essential for success in this position.
Required Experience & Qualifications

2–4 years of pastry or bakery experience, with strong exposure to Western-style pastries.

Previous experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel or high-end bakery is preferred.

Solid knowledge of baking techniques, dessert preparation, and pastry decoration.

Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product standards.

Certificate/diploma in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or equivalent qualification.
