Lifeguard – Bay La Sun Hotel & Marina

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Surveillance:

  • Monitor the pool area at all times to ensure guest safety.

  • Enforce pool rules, safety guidelines, and hygiene regulations.

  • Identify potential hazards and take immediate corrective action.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, injuries, or distress situations.

  • Perform water rescues and administer First Aid/CPR when necessary.

Guest Service:

  • Welcome guests politely and provide information about pool timings and rules.

  • Assist guests with basic swimming guidance when needed.

  • Handle guest concerns or minor complaints professionally.

Pool Area Maintenance:

  • Ensure the pool area is clean, organized, and safe.

  • Check water temperature, clarity, and chemical levels and report any abnormalities.

  • Ensure availability of towels, sunbeds, umbrellas, and pool amenities.

  • Report maintenance issues such as broken tiles, slippery surfaces, or damaged equipment.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily safety briefings and refreshers.

  • Maintain logs of incidents, rescues, water tests, and equipment checks.

  • Ensure rescue equipment (life rings, tubes, spine boards) is in proper working condition.

  • Support health club operations when required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certified Lifeguard Training (Red Cross, RLSS, or equivalent).

  • Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.

  • Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.

  • Previous experience in hotel/resort pools, beaches, or water parks (preferred).

  • Excellent observation, communication, and quick decision-making skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

  • Willingness to work outdoors, in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
