Job Description
- Guest Experience Management:
- Ensure a warm, welcoming, and authentic Mediterranean atmosphere for all guests.
- Address guest concerns, questions, and special requests with care and professionalism.
- Oversee service to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality in all aspects of the dining experience, from the initial greeting to final check-out.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service flow, particularly during busy times.
- Staff Supervision & Training:
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Provide coaching and feedback to staff to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Create and maintain team schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for shifts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions if needed.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring all areas (front-of-house, kitchen, dining areas) are functioning smoothly.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room, ensuring it aligns with the Mediterranean aesthetic and high standards.
- Ensure proper food safety and sanitation protocols are followed by staff.
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage stock levels to avoid shortages or wastage.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight:
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in monitoring financial performance, including cost control (labor, food, beverage), sales analysis, and profitability.
- Process daily financial reports, including cash handling, tips, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the restaurant’s pricing strategy and promotions to enhance profitability.
- Event & Catering Coordination:
- Help coordinate special events, private dining, and catering requests, providing a personalized experience in line with Mediterranean dining traditions.
- Collaborate with marketing to plan promotions or events (e.g., wine tasting evenings, Mediterranean festivals, special menus) to drive traffic and attract guests.
- Food & Beverage Quality Control:
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that food presentation, quality, and portions meet the Mediterranean restaurant’s standards.
- Conduct regular checks on dishes to ensure consistency in flavor and authenticity of recipes.
- Maintain knowledge of the restaurant’s wine list, cocktails, and Mediterranean-inspired beverages to assist guests in selecting the perfect pairing with their meal.
- Customer Feedback & Quality Assurance:
- Proactively seek guest feedback to continually improve the dining experience.
- Ensure that any guest complaints or issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Monitor online reviews and reputation management sites, responding to feedback as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in a restaurant, preferably in Mediterranean or fine dining.
- Culinary Knowledge: A solid understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, ingredients, and preparation techniques is highly desirable.
- Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle various operational needs efficiently.
- Financial Acumen: Basic knowledge of budgeting, labor management, and cost control.
- Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and effective communication with both staff and customers.
