Job Summary
The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests in the restaurant. Responsible for greeting, seating, and managing guest flow while ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. The Hostess maintains reservations, handles guest inquiries, and supports the service team to deliver smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Reception & Seating

Welcome guests warmly upon arrival.

Manage the seating plan and guest flow.

Escort guests to their table and ensure they are comfortably seated.

Provide menus and introduce the service staff.

Monitor table availability and update the waiting list.
Reservation & Guest Management

Handle reservations via phone, email, or walk-ins.

Maintain accurate reservation records.

Coordinate with restaurant staff to manage table turnover.

Inform guests about waiting times and provide updates.

Handle special requests and seating preferences.
Guest Service & Communication

Assist guests with any inquiries or requests.

Ensure guests are comfortable while waiting.

Coordinate with the service team to prioritize seating.

Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
Operational Support

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the entrance and waiting area.

Prepare table settings and ensure dining area is ready for service.

Assist in coordinating with the kitchen and service staff for smooth operations.

Support the team during peak hours and events.
Health & Safety

Ensure hygiene standards are maintained.

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.

Follow restaurant policies and procedures.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a Hostess or in customer service preferred.

Knowledge of restaurant operations and reservation systems is an advantage.
