Job Summary – Engineering Carpenter – W Muscat

The Engineering Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work, including repair, maintenance, and installation of wooden fixtures, furniture, and structures throughout the hotel. This role ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and outlets are maintained in pristine condition in line with Marriott brand standards and local safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience in carpentry works within hospitality or commercial environments, and the ability to work independently while supporting the broader Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities – Engineering Carpenter – W Muscat

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of wooden doors, cabinets, wardrobes, furniture, wall panels, ceilings, and flooring.

• Install, repair, and replace locks, hinges, handles, door closers, and other related hardware.

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of carpentry elements in guest rooms and public areas.

• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests related to carpentry issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience.

• Repair damaged furniture, fixtures, and fittings while maintaining the original design and finish standards.

• Assist in renovation projects, room upgrades, and special installation tasks as required.

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions for carpentry installations.

• Ensure compliance with hotel safety policies and engineering standards.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure proper storage after use.

• Support other Engineering team members during cross-functional maintenance activities when required.

• Ensure cleanliness of the workshop and work areas after completing tasks.

• Report any major structural issues or safety concerns to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.

Requirements – Engineering Carpenter – W Muscat

• Diploma or technical certification in Carpentry, Wood Technology, or related trade.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Carpenter in a hotel, resort, or commercial property.

• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.

• Ability to work with different types of wood, laminates, and finishing materials.

• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems in hospitality environments.

• Basic understanding of safety procedures and risk assessment.

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Basic English communication skills; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
