Key Responsibilities – Commis-I (Ba Ban|) – W Muscat

Your daily responsibilities as Commis‑I (Ba Ban) will include:

Food Preparation

  • Prepare and measure ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and seafood according to portion size, recipe requirements, and food hygiene standards.

  • Assist in cooking and plating food items to meet established quality, taste, and presentation specifications.

Kitchen Operations

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items, including temperature control and sanitation procedures.

  • Pull items from freezer storage to thaw safely and organize mis‑en‑place to maintain efficient kitchen workflow.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation and comply with food safety and hygiene policies.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and other kitchen team members to execute menu items promptly during service periods.

  • Communicate effectively with team members about stock levels, prep needs, and any quality issues.

  • Support a positive team atmosphere while adapting to peak service demands.

Quality Control

  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared to ensure consistent standards.

  • Report any deviations in food quality to senior kitchen staff to ensure guest expectations are met.

Experience & Education
