We are currently hiring a skilled and motivated Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP) to join our professional kitchen team in a busy hotel or restaurant environment. Position: Demi Chef de Partie
A Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section such as Hot Kitchen, Cold Kitchen (Garde Manger), Pastry, Bakery, Butchery, or Banquet Kitchen. The candidate should be able to supervise commis chefs, maintain cleanliness, and deliver consistent food quality and presentation.
The Demi Chef de Partie is expected to follow recipes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and hygiene regulations such as HACCP. You will also support training junior staff and ensuring that daily mise en place is completed on time for buffet, à la carte, and banquet operations.
Key Responsibilities of Demi Chef de Partie
As a Demi Chef de Partie, your duties and responsibilities typically include:

Assisting the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks.

Preparing and cooking dishes according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.

Ensuring mise en place is ready on time for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet service.

Supporting buffet setup, live cooking stations, and à la carte service when required.

Supervising and guiding Commis Chefs to maintain high productivity and quality output.

Ensuring food presentation is consistent and meets hotel or restaurant standards.

Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the assigned section at all times.

Following HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards to avoid contamination and ensure guest safety.

Monitoring food storage, labeling, FIFO, and temperature control procedures.

Reporting equipment issues, maintenance needs, or stock shortages to the Chef de Partie.

Controlling food waste by following portion control and proper preparation methods.

Assisting in receiving and checking kitchen supplies and ingredients when needed.

Supporting kitchen inventory and ensuring correct stock rotation practices.

Working closely with other kitchen sections such as pastry, stewarding, and service team to maintain smooth operations.

Skills and Requirements
To be considered for the Demi Chef de Partie role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen (section-based experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen workflow.

Ability to handle pressure and work efficiently during peak service times.

Good communication skills and ability to supervise junior team members.

Knowledge of hygiene practices, HACCP standards, and safe food handling procedures.
