The Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the brand identity, market positioning, and revenue performance of a hospitality property. In today’s competitive hotel environment, marketing is no longer limited to promotions; it is a strategic function that drives business growth, enhances guest loyalty, and strengthens digital presence. This role requires a dynamic professional who combines creativity with analytical thinking to deliver measurable results.
As a senior member of the commercial team, the Marketing Manager works closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, and Operations to ensure that all campaigns align with overall business objectives. The position focuses on increasing occupancy, driving direct bookings, promoting hotel outlets, and elevating brand awareness across local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that support rooms, dining venues, spa services, meetings and events, and seasonal promotions. This includes conducting market research, identifying target audiences, analyzing competitors, and implementing campaigns that differentiate the property within its segment.
Digital marketing forms the backbone of the role. The Marketing Manager oversees website management, search engine optimization (SEO), paid search advertising, social media platforms, and email marketing initiatives. Ensuring that the hotel’s online presence is engaging, optimized, and conversion-focused is critical. A strong emphasis is placed on driving direct bookings and reducing reliance on third-party distribution channels.
Content development and storytelling are essential components of the position. The Marketing Manager supervises the creation of high-quality visuals, promotional videos, press releases, brochures, and social media content that reflect brand standards. Collaboration with photographers, designers, influencers, and media agencies ensures consistent messaging and premium brand representation.
Public relations and brand partnerships also fall under this role. The Marketing Manager builds relationships with local media, tourism boards, and strategic partners to increase exposure and enhance reputation. Coordinating media stays, press launches, and influencer campaigns helps position the property as a market leader.
Budget management and performance tracking are key responsibilities. The Marketing Manager monitors campaign effectiveness using analytics tools, measuring key performance indicators such as website traffic, engagement rates, return on investment, and revenue contribution. Data-driven insights are used to refine future marketing strategies and optimize spend allocation.
The role also supports the Sales department by developing marketing collateral for corporate accounts, travel agents, and event planners. Promotional campaigns are designed to boost MICE business, leisure packages, and festive events, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and seasonal demand patterns.
Internally, the Marketing Manager ensures brand consistency across all departments. They provide guidance on brand standards, coordinate internal communication campaigns, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and corporate identity.
