Job Purpose

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and servicing guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and hygiene, ensuring an excellent guest experience in line with hotel brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Room Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms daily according to hotel standards.

  • Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.

  • Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and clean bathrooms thoroughly.

  • Check room furniture, fixtures, and equipment for damages or malfunctions and report issues promptly.

Guest Service

  • Respond politely and promptly to guest requests and inquiries.

  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.

  • Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.

Hygiene & Safety

  • Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.

  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.

  • Comply with hotel SOPs, brand standards, and local regulations.

Inventory & Equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping trolleys and storerooms.

  • Report shortages or damaged linen, amenities, or equipment.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with supervisors, Front Office, and Engineering regarding room status and maintenance issues.

  • Update room status accurately in the PMS or housekeeping system.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum primary or secondary education.

  • Prior experience as a Room Attendant in a hotel is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards is an advantage.
